Sebastiao Slagado was born on 1944 in Aimores, Minas Gerais – Central Brazil. In the mid-60’s, Brazil was under the reign of a brutal military dictatorship. To avoid prison, deportation and even torture, in August 1969, Sebastiao and former wife Lelia took a boat to France, leaving behind their home country.
